Outdoor Air Quality

Standards for ambient air quality set upper limits on pollutant concentrations for the protection of people, the environment, and other living things. Because there is no single agreed-upon definition of standards, different organisations frequently adopt different standards. Monitoring the ambient air quality is sometimes known as outdoor air quality testing.

Importance of Outdoor air quality testing:

• Helps ensure a clean, unpolluted working environment
• Helps assess the effects of bad air quality on public health
• Helps determine if the air quality is within the permissible norms
• Helps determine the effectiveness of industries in high polluted areas

• Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)
• Oxides of Nitrogen
• Particulate Matter (PM10 and PM 2.5)
• Lead (Pb)
• Carbon Monoxide (CO)
• Ozone (O3)
