Why water quality testing matters
Water quality directly affects health, regulatory standing and operational uptime, whether it's the drinking water in your cafeteria, process water on a factory floor, or the borewell and tanker supply feeding a construction site. Contaminants like excess TDS, heavy metals, coliform bacteria and industrial residues are often invisible until they show up as a compliance notice, a failed audit, or a health complaint.
Equinox Labs tests water against the requirement that applies to its source and use. Drinking water is assessed against IS 10500, the Indian Standard for drinking water, with IS 3025 methods for physical and chemical parameters and applicable methods for microbiological parameters.
Industrial water and effluent are assessed against your process requirement or the discharge norms of the CPCB or your State Pollution Control Board. Testing is performed in our NABL-accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) laboratories for the parameters within our accredited scope; ask us to confirm that the parameters in your panel are covered. Our field team collects samples on site under controlled conditions, and results are delivered digitally with guidance on any corrective action.
Food businesses are also expected to use potable water in food handling and preparation under the hygiene conditions of the FSSAI licensing regulations, which makes periodic drinking-water testing part of staying FSSAI compliant.

Drinking water is tested against BIS 10500 (Indian Standard for Drinking Water Specification), using IS 3025 test methods. For industrial and effluent water, we test against the relevant CPCB / state pollution control board discharge norms.
Our field team collects samples directly from your site (tap, RO unit, borewell, tanker or process line) using sterile containers and controlled handling, across 500+ cities pan-India.
There is no single frequency that suits every site. For corporate offices, hospitals and institutions, we recommend testing potable water sources at least once every six months, and again after any change in source, plumbing work or water-quality complaint. Food businesses should also follow the testing conditions of their FSSAI licence.
